GoGet NEWSLETTER
  July 2009
   NEWS

Welcome to the first official GoGet newsletter.

Our intention is to update you monthly on the latest GoGet updates and any new features we are working on. You have received this newsletter because you are registered in our system as a GoGet client. If you do not want to receive our newsletter, please click the appropriate link at the bottom of this letter. Please feel free to distribute this newsletter to any other interested parties.

Monthly Updates

There have been a considerable number of updates to both the front-end and back-end of GoGet over the past few weeks. Note that all client requests and suggestions for enhancements that are incorporated into GoGet are rolled out to all sites, however those new features may not be visible to you unless you have requested them to be activated.

Of course you need to know about them in order to decide whether you want them activated, hence the reason for this monthly newsletter.

In an attempt to formalise our update process, in future we will be releasing program updates once a month only, on the first Monday of each month. We will be sending this newsletter out, at least 2 business days before the updates, to inform you of the changes that we have made to the GoGet programs.

The change in update procedure will not affect updates for any program errors found. These will continue to be rolled out as soon as possible after notifying us.

   COMING FEATURES

This section of the newsletter describes briefly some of the new enhancements to GoGet that we are working on and expect to release over the next few months. As always, your input and feedback are welcome.

Processing Module (GoGet Office) - this features gives the user the ability to process processing checklists in a similar fashion to the inspection checklists. This module will incorporate standard responses, consent memos and automate the generation of requests for information (RFI) letters, and tracking the response of those items.

Rules Engine (GoGet Server) - this feature will allow you to define rules to apply to inspection updates as they are processed from the tablets. For example, if a particular checklist item fails then send an email to a specified address with relevant information about the inspection. Another example is to generate an inspection booking based on the result of a particular inspection.

Consent Memos (GoGet Mobile and GoGet Intranet) - the ability to generate a memo relating to a consent and optionally address it to specific inspector. The inspector will be able to respond to the memo from their tablet, and the sender is notified and signs it off. Memos are stored permanently against a consent.

Templates (GoGet Mobile and GoGet Office) - this feature will allow you to define text templates that can be used in any part of GoGet Mobile or Office to insert a predefined piece of text. Similar in operation to Word AutoText feature. It may be a simple piece of text (e.g. As per approved plans) or could be a predefined section of legislation.

Photo Capture (GoGet Mobile) - for devices with built-in cameras (or digital cameras with cable connections) the ability to take photos and store them against the consent and the inspection. The photos will be uploaded back to the server where they can be viewed through the GoGet Intranet (Attachments).

Competencies (GoGet Scheduler) - the ability to load into GoGet a skills matrix of inspector competencies. This will be based on building category and inspection types. When a booking is being taken, GoGet will check that the allocated inspector has the appropriate competencies to perform the inspection required. If not, it will warn the user who can reassign the inspection to an inspector with the required competence.
